An update on the new helpers feature!

A top request sent in as support requests is for adding helpers. Over the last 3 months, we have received nearly 500 of these requests. That is an average of somewhere near 40 per week non-stop, of this one type of support request alone. More pour in and the pace increases as site functionality is restored. Everyone works hard to try to keep up, and we appreciate your patience.

This new feature will allow you to add helpers directly, via a system of invitations.

It is still in development, but nice progress is being made. In the screenshot above you can see an early version of how the page will appear.

Right now, the process works as follows:

  1. A user will visit the helpers tab and create an invitation web link.
    • This link can be shared any way you choose. For example, an email or text.
  2. The recipient clicks the link, and is sent to Territory Assistant to register, and request to join the congregation.
    • Here the recipient can review and verify the invitation. For example, the congregation they are being invited to.
  3. Once accepted, an existing congregation user must visit the helpers tab and approve the recipient’s request to join.
    • The existing user will be able to review the email address to verify the identity of the recipient before approving.

The current iteration of this feature is currently being tested internally. There are already some notes on things that must be improved before release. But we are moving forward.

Besides this, work continues on the map card system as well as the website appearance. These projects are all developed in parallel by various friends as they have availability.
